Right, so this is probably the latest in the month that I’ve posted my playlist and I’m extremely sorry for that but I have just been very busy! I would of just skipped this month but I am completely in love with everything on this playlist and I can’t just let it go unrecognised.
Kicking off is Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj (my two favourite gals!)… I loved Side to Side when I first listened to the album but that VMA performance and the new video have rekindle my obsession. Ariana has flawless vocals, Nicki is completely badass and this track is just perfectly pop.
I already thought Dua Lipa was insanely good and Blow Your Mind (Mwah) simply reinforces that. For only 21, her sound is so confident and assured! She has such a mesmerising voice and this song is just so catchy.
Is there anything not to love about the new Tame Impala single?! The answer is obviously no. Beverly Laurel has that typical dreamily intoxicating sound that I absolutely adore about them. Obviously, this has been on repeat a lot!
I actually discovered the next track through BBC Introducing and instantly fell in love. It has such a perfectly upbeat indie vibe that I can’t get enough of! Considering that Lucy is his debut single, Ten Tonnes has such a sophisticated and assured sound.
Okay, so the whole of Jamie T’s new album is incredible! I found it so difficult to just choose one track from the album for my monthly picks. Eventually, I picked Dragon Bones because I am obsessed with how funky and dynamic sounding this track is!
Ultraviolet by Dagny has such a blissfully pop sound which is so stunning. It is catchy and upbeat, but there is also something really complex sounding and dreamy about this single!
Glass Animals were featured on last month’s playlist and they are back again! The new album is so incredible from start to finish but Season 2 Episode 3 is the stand out for me. I am obsessed with the combination of funky electronic sounds and relaxed hip-hop vibes on this track.
I am loving the new track by Two Door Cinema Club. They seemed to have abandoned their standard indie sound recently for something a bit more electronic and experimental! I am digging this change because Bad Decisions is incredible in this new approach.
Next up is a track from local band, Paradise Underground, that I recently discovered. There is something so mesmerising and flawless about Boho Paradise (which apparently isn’t even called that anymore!) that I can’t get enough of. As a band, they manage to sound so raw and unrefined whilst remaining completely confident!
I was so excited to see that American Football had a new single and it did not let me down. It is sounds perfectly dreamy and the lyrics are so heartfelt! This song makes me feel all the feels and I can’t really describe how much I love it.
