I might not be the most well-travelled person ever, but I absolutely love exploring new places across the world and I want to make travel a bigger part of this blog. I think my love of travel was ignited by the overnight ferry trips over to Holland to visit family when I was little, however the summer just gone caused that love to burst into flames.
Last summer, I was lucky enough to spend almost a week in Paris thanks to my generous dadio and step-monster, which then expanded to a few days in both Holland and Belgium as well. This trip to Paris was one of the best experiences ever! I mean waking up to go for hot chocolate and croissants in cute cafés makes you feel truly Parisian and effortlessly cool (even if you really aren’t!).
The food was incredible, the weather was beautiful and the company was hilarious. One of the coolest bars I’ve been to was The Experimental Cocktail Club that my dad introduced us to. It’s definitely worth trying to hunt down because the staff can make you any drink you want and the vibe is so laid-back. Plus, seeing my step-bro trying to get my dad wasted on moonshine and absinthe cocktails was highly entertaining!
If you’re looking for a Camden or North Laines-esque area to do a spot of browsing and exploring, then Montmarte is the destination for you. Sitting slightly above the city, with all the cute stalls, independent stores, and insanely talented street artists, this area was one of my favourite parts of Paris (even if there was torrential rain!).
Everything about this city is spectacular, I mean everywhere you look it is just so dreamy and beautiful. I have never wanted to explore absolutely every side street of a city so much!
