Firstly, let me apologise for the break I’ve had from blogging! Life just got a little bit on top of me, but I am ready to throw myself back into my blog now. Kicking off my return is another edition of The Body Diaries. This week I am chatting with my pal Naomi: one of my oldest friends, an Army cadet and a cute dog owner!
Give my readers a little introduction to you. Who are you and what are you about?
Hi everyone, I’m Naomi and I’m 21. I live in a little village just outside of Milton Keynes with my dad, step mum and my little rescue pooch Billy! I currently work in the restaurant of my local garden centre and I am also a volunteer for the Army Cadet Force which I absolutely love. You’ll usually find me messing about with Snapchat filters or posting picture of my dog to Instagram!
How would you describe your relationship with your body?
I’m not 100% confident with my body. To be honest, I wouldn’t even that I’m 50% confident at the moment! I’ve just spent two weeks on holiday with my boyfriend in Greece and that was probably the most confident I’ve felt in a while, even though I spent most of my time in a bikini round the pool!
Tell me which 3 parts of yourself you love the most?
My tattoos, my boobs and my bum #cringe!
What is your go-to outfit that makes you feel like you’re the hottest person on earth?
Whenever I’m getting ready for a night out my friends and I will always have the ‘what are you wearing tonight?’ convo. My response is literally always the standard ‘jeans and a nice top’. It’s very rare you will see me in anything else! Although I wore an amazing dress for my 21st birthday party which made me feel amazing.
How do you try and get over the bad days you have with your body?
I just try and make myself feel positive. I think about my family, friends and boyfriend. They all love me for who I am and they are all so supportive towards me! It really helps.
What tips would you give your 12 year old self about body confidence?
I would like to think that 12 year old me was as headstrong and motivated as I am now. But I don’t think I was. I’d blame hormones for that one! I’d tell myself to relax and enjoy my life. Not everyone is about looks and now matter how I look, people will always love me for who I am on the inside!
