This year has definitely been a year of change. A lot of things have changed. Whether they be good or bad. Let’s end the year with a look back on some of the great things that happened this year! So let’s have a little stroll down 2017’s memory lane and look at my best moments of the year.
1. Cya later university
Saying goodbye to uni, especially my very weird, but lovely pals, was a very hard thing to do. But, actually finishing uni was incredible. One very unsupportive teacher during sixth form made it clear to me I wouldn’t succeed and would end up being kicked out of uni. So graduating from uni made me so proud of myself, for proving her (and my own doubtful mind) wrong. I could do it, and I did it. My graduation was one of the best days of my life and I’ll never forget it.
2. The Stone Roses
I’ve already written an entire post about how bloody brilliant this gig was, but I had to include it in my favourite memories. Hearing 90,000 people singing along to your favourite band is a feeling which never gets old. Seeing a band I have loved so much for so long, with the most generous boyfriend, was a memory I will cherish forever.
3. My 21st birthday
Most people will say that their 21st birthday was a fond memory, but I think mine is even better. My dad flying over to surprise me from Dubai was unbelievably lovely. I had absolutely no idea (well done again to everyone for keeping the secret) and it was so special. I’m so happy to have such an amazing moment on video as well. Also, it didn’t hurt that we ate a lot of Mexican food and drank cocktails either!
4. A summer by the seaside
Despite having lived in Brighton for three years, I’d never fully spent a summer there. This year, I got a job and stayed in Brighton. I wanted to make the most of my favourite place. It was one of the best summers I’ve had. I explored more than I have before, I ate yummy food, made friends from work and spent time with Nick. I’m so happy I got to spend a summer in Brighton before I had to leave.
5. Creating a (what I’d consider) successful series
This year, I decided to do something a little different on my blog and I created The Body Diaries! I am such an advocate for body positivity and felt so inspired that I wanted to do something to be a part of the movement. I created a series where I’ve had so many wonderful women decide to take part and I’m so proud of it. My hope is that The Body Diaries will continue to grow and become more diverse, as long as I have willing participants!
Share what the best thing that happened to you this year in the comments. We need some positivity to come from this year!
